Visa has partnered with Zenith Bank to launch the Visa Signature Card, a premium payment product designed to serve affluent customers with enhanced global lifestyle and travel benefits.
The card was introduced as part of efforts to expand premium banking services for high-net-worth clients.
The collaboration aims to provide cardholders with a range of benefits including travel privileges, exclusive merchant offers, and global payment convenience.
According to officials involved in the launch, the initiative aligns with the bank’s strategy to strengthen its services for customers with international lifestyle and payment needs.
Speaking during the unveiling, the General Manager of the Retail Group at Zenith Bank, Emmanuel Lanre Oladimeji, said the introduction of the Visa Signature Card builds on the bank’s existing focus on serving high-value customers.
He noted that the bank already offers products targeted at affluent clients and that the new card represents an expansion of those offerings.
“What we are launching today is to scale up what Zenith Bank is already known for. We serve the affluent customers of the market today and we have existing products specifically designed for this customer base,” Oladimeji said.
He added that the partnership with Visa was designed to strengthen the bank’s engagement with globally mobile customers who require reliable and convenient payment options while travelling or conducting international transactions.
“Our alignment with Visa today is to launch the Visa Signature Card… designed specifically for customers who value convenience and who are internationally mobile,” he said.
Director of Marketing at Visa, Seun Adaramola, explained that the card’s benefits were developed based on research into the lifestyle patterns of affluent customers.
According to him, the product focuses on meeting the travel, shopping, and everyday payment needs of that segment of the market.
“As mentioned by the Zenith Bank leadership team, Visa is partnering with Zenith Bank to provide a unique value proposition for affluent customers,” Adaramola said.
He noted that the card provides access to both global and local merchant offers through Visa’s international partner network.
Cardholders are expected to receive discounts and benefits when making purchases with participating merchants worldwide.
Adaramola also stated that the card includes travel-related privileges such as access to airport lounges and other services available to cardholders across multiple destinations.
Premium card offerings have become part of Nigerian banks’ strategies to attract and retain high-net-worth customers.
Financial institutions increasingly collaborate with global payment networks to provide international transaction capabilities and lifestyle-focused services for customers who travel frequently or conduct cross-border payments.
