The Lagos State Government has warned motorists and parking operators in Computer Village against engaging in illegal parking activities, directing road users to authorised parking facilities to avoid sanctions.

Computer Village, located in Ikeja, Lagos, is a major commercial hub with high vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Illegal parking has been cited by authorities as a concern affecting traffic flow and public safety in the area.

The state government said it has observed an increase in unregulated parking operators within and around the marketplace, prompting the warning.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other relevant agencies have been directed to enforce parking regulations and ensure compliance with traffic laws.

Officials said unauthorised parking along major corridors and walkways disrupts vehicular movement and poses risks to road users and pedestrians.

The state government urged motorists to utilise authorised parking lots within Computer Village and surrounding areas.

The government emphasised that appropriate fines and sanctions will be imposed on individuals and operators found flouting parking regulations.

The directive is intended to improve traffic management and reduce congestion around the busy commercial district.

LASTMA and other enforcement agencies have been instructed to monitor compliance and take appropriate action against illegal operators.

The state government said enforcement efforts will focus on ensuring orderly parking and minimising traffic disruptions.
