The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has alerted passengers to prepare for possible flight delays and cancellations on services between Nigeria and some Middle East destinations due to regional disruptions affecting airspace operations.

Airlines adjust schedules when disruptions occur in foreign airspace or at destination airports. Flight delays and cancellations can affect departure and arrival times, and changes are typically communicated by airlines and airport authorities to impacted passengers.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Managing Director of FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yadudu, said the authority is monitoring operational developments that are affecting flights between Nigeria and Middle East destinations.

FAAN said the disruptions have resulted in schedule changes for several airlines serving the Lagos and Abuja international airports.

The statement advised passengers travelling on airlines operating services to the Middle East to contact their carriers for updated flight information and to allow additional time at check‑in and departure points.

Yadudu said airlines are experiencing operational challenges that have affected flights in the Middle East region, which could lead to alterations of passenger itineraries.

FAAN stated it is working with airline partners and relevant authorities to manage the impact on passengers and airport operations.

Travellers planning flights to or from Middle East destinations through Nigerian international airports are encouraged to verify departure times with their airlines. FAAN’s notification aims to ensure passengers have current itinerary details ahead of travel.
