The development highlights ongoing military efforts to weaken insurgent activities and restore security in the region.

Military operations in Nigeria’s North-East have intensified in recent months, with sustained offensives targeting insurgent strongholds across Borno and neighbouring states.

The region has remained a focal point of security operations due to persistent attacks linked to terrorist groups operating in remote communities and along key supply routes.

Operation Hadin Kai, the military task force overseeing counter-insurgency efforts in the region, has maintained coordinated land and air operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and preventing regrouping.

The latest update reflects continued operational momentum within this broader security framework.

According to an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, the troops sustain pressure terrorists escapees effort led to the safe return of 10 individuals, comprising three adult females and seven minors.

The victims were among residents abducted during an earlier attack on the Ngoshe community.

The report stated that the escapees fled from a terrorist enclave and reached safety, providing intelligence to troops.

“They provided useful intelligence on activities and locations of the terrorists, including the presence of a key commander in the enclave while their profiling is ongoing,” the report said.

Air operations also formed part of the troops sustain pressure terrorists escapees campaign. The Air Component conducted night patrols along major routes covering Auno, Molai, Konduga, and Maiduguri.

During surveillance, aircraft detected suspicious movements south of Auno and responded with probing fire.

In a separate operation, troops intercepted suspected logistics suppliers to terrorist groups during a night patrol in Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The report confirmed the recovery of large quantities of Premium Motor Spirit concealed in sacks, alongside the arrest of several suspects including a driver, a motor boy, and fuel station staff.

Recovered items and suspects are currently in custody for further investigation.

The troops sustain pressure terrorists escapees operations indicate continued disruption of terrorist supply chains and intelligence gathering through rescued victims.

The interception of fuel supplies points to efforts to weaken logistical support systems that sustain insurgent activities.

The integration of aerial surveillance and ground patrols also reflects a coordinated military approach to monitoring movement across strategic corridors.

These operations are expected to enhance response capacity and limit the operational freedom of insurgent groups within the region.
