Thousands of youths from Iwo Federal Constituency on Saturday organised a massive Oyebamiji rally in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), declaring their readiness to mobilise votes for the party ahead of the August 15 governorship election. The mobilisation brought together APC supporters from the three local government areas that make up the constituency; Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa, in what party leaders described as a demonstration of grassroots support.

The campaign procession moved through several parts of Iwo, including LA Grammar School, Oke Ibode, Idi Agbede, Ojude Oba, Oke Ode, Olu Ponona, as well as sections of Ayedire Local Government Area. Participants marched through the communities chanting party slogans, waving APC flags and urging residents to support the party’s governorship candidate during the forthcoming election.

Speaking during the rally, APC House of Assembly candidate for Olaoluwa State Constituency, Hon. Adegbile Abefe, described the turnout as evidence of growing youth confidence in Oyebamiji’s leadership. According to him, the large gathering reflected widespread belief that the APC candidate possesses the experience and competence required to govern Osun State.

Abefe also criticised the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, alleging that it had fallen short of expectations in key sectors, including security, healthcare and road infrastructure. He said the enthusiastic participation at the Oyebamiji rally showed that many young people in the constituency were eager for a change in leadership.

Chairman of Youth Mobilisation in Iwo Federal Constituency, Comrade Muyideen Abdulgafar, expressed optimism that the APC would record a decisive victory across the constituency on election day. He argued that the current administration had not delivered adequate infrastructure or improved security, maintaining that Oyebamiji has the capacity to address the state’s developmental challenges if elected governor. According to Abdulgafar, the youths are committed to ensuring the APC secures victory in the August 15 governorship election.

Also speaking at the event, APC Campaign Council member Yakub Atanda described the rally as only the beginning of the party’s mobilisation efforts.

He claimed that approximately 10,000 youths participated in the exercise, adding that the turnout reflected the growing momentum behind the APC governorship candidate across the constituency. The rally forms part of the party’s ongoing grassroots campaign activities ahead of the Osun governorship election, as political parties intensify efforts to mobilise support across the state.
