Tinubu Celebrates Adewale Tinubu at 59, Hails Oando CEO’s Impact

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Group Chief Executive of Oando Plc, Adewale Tinubu, on his 59th birthday, commending his contributions to Nigeria’s energy industry and national economic development.

In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President joined family members, business associates, and industry stakeholders in celebrating Adewale Tinubu at 59, describing him as an entrepreneur whose vision has helped reshape the country’s oil and gas sector.

President Tinubu praised the Oando chief executive for transforming the company from a petroleum marketing business into a fully integrated energy group with operations spanning the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the industry. He also acknowledged the business leader’s role in expanding indigenous participation within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector through strategic investments and local content development initiatives.

The President highlighted several landmark achievements credited to Adewale Tinubu, including the acquisition of ConocoPhillips’ Nigerian assets and Oando’s listings on both the Nigerian and South African stock exchanges, describing them as significant milestones that strengthened the company’s position in the African energy market.

Speaking on Adewale Tinubu at 59, the President noted that the entrepreneur’s investments have created employment opportunities for many Nigerians while contributing to the growth of the country’s energy industry. He also commended the Oando Group Chief Executive for supporting government policies aimed at promoting indigenous participation in the petroleum sector and for advancing environmental sustainability through corporate initiatives.

President Tinubu further acknowledged Adewale Tinubu’s role in establishing the Oando Foundation in 2011.

According to the presidency, the foundation currently supports more than 88 schools across Nigeria while implementing programmes focused on education, community development, and environmental sustainability. The President described these initiatives as evidence of the business leader’s commitment to improving lives beyond the corporate sector.

As Adewale Tinubu at 59 marks another milestone, President Tinubu offered prayers for his continued good health, wisdom, and success.
