All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, has congratulated the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, following his inauguration as Chairman of the Ogun Council of Obas.

The inauguration took place on Wednesday at the Oba’s Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with Governor Dapo Abiodun officiating the ceremony. Traditional rulers representing all 20 local government areas of the state attended the event.

Oba Gbadebo’s emergence followed the expiration of the tenure of the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, as chairman of the council. The Ogun Council of Obas serves as an advisory body to the state government, particularly on issues connected to the socio-economic development of Ogun.

In his congratulatory message, Adeola described the new position as recognition of the Alake’s experience, wisdom and longstanding commitment to the development of Egbaland and Ogun State. The APC candidate expressed confidence that the traditional ruler would use his new position to deepen cooperation between traditional institutions and government.

Adeola said Oba Gbadebo’s leadership could further promote peace and unity across the state while strengthening the role of traditional institutions in supporting development. He also prayed for divine guidance, good health, strength and long life for the Alake as he assumes responsibility for the council.

“We heartily congratulate our revered royal father, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, on his inauguration as the new Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas,” Adeola said.

He described Oba Gbadebo as a highly respected traditional ruler and custodian of the state’s cultural heritage.

“Kabiyesi remains a highly respected traditional ruler and custodian of our cherished culture, traditions and values,” he added.

Adeola’s congratulatory message comes as the new chairman begins his tenure at a time when the council remains an important channel for engagement between the traditional institution and the state government. The senator wished the Alake success in the new role and expressed optimism that his leadership would contribute to continued peace, unity and development across Ogun State.
