Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has officially submitted her Peoples Democratic Party nomination forms ahead of the 2027 National Assembly elections. The submission of the Natasha PDP nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja formally confirms her intention to seek re-election for a second term in the Senate.

Akpoti-Uduaghan emerged as senator for Kogi Central following the 2023 general elections and has since remained one of the prominent opposition figures in the National Assembly. Her tenure has drawn national attention through legislative interventions, constituency projects, and political confrontations on governance-related matters.

The latest Natasha PDP nomination process follows her earlier acquisition of the PDP expression of interest and nomination forms earlier in May. Political observers say the move signals the beginning of intensified political activity ahead of the 2027 elections in Kogi State.

According to reports, the senator arrived at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja accompanied by supporters and political associates during the submission exercise. The event attracted attention within party circles as preparations gradually intensify ahead of the next election cycle.

Speaking after the submission of the nomination forms, Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked members of her constituency and the PDP for what she described as continued support and confidence in her leadership. She stated that her focus remained on expanding development initiatives across Kogi Central through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

The senator said, “We have started a movement of hope, inclusion, and progress. By the grace of God and the support of our people, we shall continue to build a future where every citizen feels represented and valued.”

Earlier reports indicated that her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, had purchased the nomination forms on her behalf. Akpoti-Uduaghan described the gesture as a reflection of shared commitment toward the political future of Kogi Central.

Natasha PDP nomination move is also expected to shape political alignments within Kogi Central, where the ruling All Progressives Congress is widely anticipated to field a strong challenger for the senatorial contest. Reports have linked former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to growing speculation surrounding the seat, although no official declaration has been made.

Political analysts say the early nomination process reflects increasing momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly in states expected to witness high-profile legislative contests. The Kogi Central senatorial race is already drawing attention because of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s visibility within national politics and the strategic significance of the district.

Observers also note that the move may influence broader political calculations within both the PDP and APC as parties begin consultations and internal preparations ahead of their primary elections.
