The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has signed the 2026 Hajj airlift agreement with participating airlines, the commission said in a statement on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The signing marks a key step in preparations for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
The agreement was finalised during a signing ceremony involving NAHCON and representatives of the airlines selected to carry intending pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The commission charged all carriers to strictly comply with agreed operational standards and timelines for flight schedules and other logistics related to the pilgrimage.
NAHCON described the Hajj airlift as “a national assignment” and said the ceremony underscored the commission’s commitment to working with the airlines to deliver an efficient, safe and orderly airlift operation for intending pilgrims.
In the statement, NAHCON said that participating carriers would be held to agreed performance standards to ensure adherence to the timetable and safety protocols agreed for the exercise.
The commission said the agreement lays the foundation for a coordinated airlift operation in line with international standards and regulatory requirements.
