Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has said reforms initiated by his administration over the past two and a half years have created an enabling environment for investments in the state, the governor said on Thursday.
The governor spoke at the ground‑breaking ceremony of Kaima Smart City in Pmape, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, which borders the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Governor Sani said the reforms implemented by his administration have been recognised nationally, citing Kaduna’s ranking second in the 2025 Subnational Ease of Doing Business Report by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.
He said the administration is building on its foundation of reforms and peace and that investment outcomes are emerging across key economic sectors.
At the event, Governor Sani referred to several investment initiatives supported by the state government:
- The Qatar Sanabil Housing project.
- The Renewed Hope Housing programmes, which the governor said are providing affordable homes, social infrastructure and jobs for vulnerable and displaced communities.
He said renewed investor confidence is contributing to growth in sectors including mining, agri‑business, manufacturing and industrial development, reflecting Kaduna State’s mineral resources and strategic location.
Governor Sani described Kaima Smart City as a flagship urban development project designed to meet modern planning and infrastructure standards.
He said the city’s proximity to the Federal Capital Territory positions it as an economic and cultural gateway and that the project’s design includes sustainable planning and resilient infrastructure.
Sani said that once completed, the development will provide a hub for enterprise, culture, leisure and innovation, serving both current and future generations.
