The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to ₦1,175 per litre, marking the third price increase within a week.

The latest adjustment represents an increase from the ₦995 per litre price announced days earlier.

Industry data showed that the refinery had earlier raised its petrol gantry price from ₦774 to ₦874 per litre, before another revision pushed it to ₦995 per litre, indicating multiple price adjustments within a short period.

The refinery’s pricing changes have drawn attention within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector, where the ex-depot rate often influences retail pump prices across the country.

Market observers noted that changes in gantry prices typically affect petrol costs at filling stations due to factors such as transportation costs and marketers’ margins.

The latest revision adds to ongoing adjustments in petrol pricing following earlier increases implemented by the refinery within the same week.

The development comes amid evolving pricing patterns in Nigeria’s deregulated downstream petroleum market, where petrol prices are influenced by supply dynamics and international crude oil trends.
