The clarification follows the circulation of messages suggesting that schools in Osun State had been ordered to close. Such reports raised concerns among parents, guardians, and school administrators about potential disruptions to academic activities.
However, the state government reiterated that there is no school shutdown and that the information in circulation did not originate from official sources. Authorities stressed the importance of verifying information before sharing it, particularly on matters affecting education and public safety.
The government noted that misinformation can create unnecessary panic and disrupt planning for students and schools.
The Osun State Government maintained that education remains a priority and that efforts are ongoing to ensure stability within the sector. Officials stated that there is no school shutdown and that the administration is committed to maintaining uninterrupted academic activities.
Authorities advised school administrators, parents, and students to disregard any unverified reports suggesting otherwise. They also encouraged the public to monitor official announcements for accurate updates regarding education policies. The government reaffirmed that any legitimate directives affecting schools would be communicated through formal and recognised channels.
The clarification provides reassurance to students, parents, and educators across the state, particularly in light of past instances where school closures have occurred due to security or administrative reasons in other regions.

Education stakeholders note that consistent communication from authorities is essential to maintaining trust and ensuring smooth academic operations.
