This visit was part of ongoing efforts by the state government to assess discipline, attendance, and overall performance within the civil service.
During the inspection, the governor moved through several offices to observe staff presence and workplace conduct.
The exercise revealed gaps in punctuality, raising concerns about operational efficiency and commitment among public servants.
Addressing journalists after the visit, Soludo said the findings were unacceptable, noting that several offices had not resumed full activity well past official resumption time.
“I walked into several offices and found a significant number of workers not yet at work, as of past 10 a.m. This is unacceptable,” he said.
He described the situation as a mix of “the good, the bad and the ugly,” acknowledging that while some workers were present and performing their duties, others were not meeting expected standards.
