The Code of Conduct Bureau has summoned the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, to appear before it over alleged secret bank accounts and unexplained wealth, the agency confirmed on Thursday.
The Code of Conduct Bureau is Nigeria’s anti‑corruption agency responsible for enforcing public officers’ compliance with asset declaration laws and investigating alleged violations.
Public officers are required to declare their assets to ensure transparency and accountability in public service.
In a statement on Thursday, the CCB said it has summoned Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, to answer questions relating to alleged secret bank accounts and unexplained wealth brought against him.
The agency said the invitation was issued in line with its statutory functions to investigate alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act and to ensure compliance with asset declaration requirements.
The statement did not provide details of specific bank accounts or amounts in question but said the matter concerns alleged undeclared accounts and discrepancies in declared assets.
The CCB confirmed that the invitation was formally communicated to Justice Tsoho and that he is expected to appear before the bureau on a specified date to respond to questions.
Justice Tsoho’s appearance before the CCB will involve questioning and examination of documentation as part of the agency’s investigation into the alleged secret accounts and asset declaration issues.
The CCB may determine further actions based on the outcome of the session.
