FCT Minister Says Much Has Changed in Abuja Under Tinubu’s Administration

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, said that many changes have taken place in Abuja under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, government and party sources said on Tuesday.

Wike made the remark after inspecting ongoing projects in Abuja, noting improvements in infrastructure and development within the nation’s capital.

He described 2026 as a significant year for the city in the year marking its 50th anniversary under the Tinubu administration.

The minister said the provision of infrastructure in Abuja has expanded under the current federal government. He pointed to visible changes across the city’s landscape that align with ongoing development efforts.

Officials have overseen a range of projects across the FCT in recent months, including road construction and rehabilitation, engineering infrastructure work and other urban upgrades intended to enhance connectivity and service delivery.

Wike said the year marks a golden jubilee year for Abuja and that ongoing infrastructure works contribute to the city’s growth and modernization.

He said more work remains to be completed as part of broader development plans for the territory.
